You can rent a bike without a reservation if there are bikes available.
We recommend that you make a reservation as soon as possible, as it gets very crowded during holiday seasons—i.e. from the end of April to the beginning of May, and mid-August.
Some days we do not accept reservations, so please inquire in advance.
Please wear snug clothing, or clothing loose enough to adjust so as not to get caught in the wheels or chains.
Please do not wear long skirts, pants with wide hems, or sandals that are easy to take off, as these may cause accidents.
We recommend that you bring drinks, rainwear, a hat, towel, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
The bicycles are equipped with a small bag, but if you have a lot of luggage a backpack will be useful.
There are coin lockers at Hotel Rainbow Sakurajima.
However, there may not be enough space for large items, so please inquire in advance.
There are two types of bicycles: e-bikes and cross bikes.
We do not have tandems (two-seater bicycles).
For more information, please refer to "About Rental Bicycles".
Please be careful when riding, as there are areas with heavy traffic. The volcanic ash on the road is slippery, so please be careful.
Please drive in accordance with Japanese road traffic laws.
There are several public restrooms.
Please refer to “the map" for details.
Please contact the place where you received the rental.
There is Sakurajima Magma Hot Spring at Hotel Rainbow Sakurajima where you can rent an e-bike.
In the event of an accident caused by a bike problem, you will be compensated within the scope of your insurance.
Please take responsibility for your own safety. In the case of accidents either involving yourself alone, or involving other vehicles, you will be charged the actual cost of repairing the broken bicycle.
